Jim Walker began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young before moving to Park-Ohio Holdings Corp., where he held the positions of assistant treasurer and corporate controller before becoming the company’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Jim directed all SEC and internal financing reporting and accounting activities for this publicly traded company. He was also responsible for shareholder reporting, bank and public financings, including structuring and negotiating credit agreements with multiple financial institutions, business plans and budgeting for each operating unit, taxation, cash management, investment policy of pension plans, and internal audit and compliance. Jim was a key member of Park-Ohio’s executive management, and managed and supervised a staff that included finance and control, financial reporting, federal and state tax planning and compliance, internal audit and human resources. Jim’s background includes structuring and selling senior subordinated notes, planning, directing and managing numerous due diligence activities for potential acquisitions ranging in sales from $5 to $200 million, designing a major restructuring of the company’s accounts payable process, and identifying and reducing administrative costs.
Jim moved onto management consulting, serving as Chief Financial Officer for his clients. He provided a senior financial resource to deal with complex strategic transactions, including strategic planning and implementation, mergers and acquisitions, management support of diverse operations, financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting. His background in finance restructuring, turn-around consulting, shareholder relations, internal audit and financial control lead him to Anchor Manufacturing Group, serving as its Chief Financial Officer, bringing stability and a high level of strategic planning to a faltering company. His responsibilities included the accounting, HR, material control and information technology departments.
Jim serves BG Consulting Group as a senior financial consultant, providing clients with strong leadership and management skills, including investor and bank relations, acquisitions and dispositions, public offerings, inventory and cost management, divisional operations analysis, budgeting and business plans, tax administration and compliance, cash management, retirement and benefit plans, SEC reporting, and accounting policies.
